Kalle (Karl-Heinz):

Born 27 May 1966 in Bernkastel-Kues, Germany

Bernkastel-Kues is an over 700 year old town in the middle of the Moselle river valley - an area which is home the following world famous vineyard locations:

The family hails from a much older town, Neumagen-Drohn, called Noviomagus Nemetum 2,000 years ago when the Romans first cultivated wine on the steep hills along the Moselle.

The family later moved a few kilometers upriver closer to Trier, where I grew up.
A student exchange programme in England in a tiny town named Little Brickhill (Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire) provided a solid foundation for my english later on in life.

I lived for many years in Frankfurt, the banking capitol of Germany (if not of Europe), where I also met Mark in 2002. The city is much nicer that most think - it doesn't deserve the reputation it has of a concrete jungle. In fact, Frankfurt is a very green city and they have done a lot over the years to makre it even nicer.

Anyway, we then moved to Munich together - and five years later, we're still here!

Auf Wiedersehen,

K.
